History

Kayseri University Information Technologies Vocational School was established on April 18, 2024, by the General Assembly of Higher Education, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, and Article 30 of Law No. 2809. It commenced its educational activities for the first time in the 2024-2025 academic year by admitting students. Within the Vocational School, under the Department of Electronics and Automation, there are four programs: Digital Transformation Electronics Program, Autonomous Systems Technician Program, Unmanned Vehicle Technician Program, and Artificial Intelligence Operator Program.

The Information Technologies Vocational School aims to train qualified human resources needed by the rapidly developing world of technology. With the Industry 4.0 revolution, the need for qualified human resources in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Cybersecurity has increased. The practical training provided here will not only prepare students for the workforce but also train experts who will contribute to the country's digital transformation process.

Degree Awarded

Graduates of the Autonomous Systems Technician program will receive an Associate's Degree in Autonomous Systems Technician. Upon graduation, a transcript showing the competencies and courses completed during the training period will be included in the diploma supplement.

Program Content

The Autonomous Systems Technician Program aims to train qualified technical support staff who can work in the design, integration, and implementation of autonomous systems based on artificial intelligence, robotics, sensor technologies, and control systems. The program is designed to produce graduates equipped to respond to the increasing technological needs in the digital transformation process.

During the two-year training period, students gain theoretical and practical knowledge of autonomous system components; they become proficient in robotic automation systems, mobile robots, industrial control units, and data analysis applications.

The professional courses included in the program are Basic Electronics, Electrical Circuits, Industrial Automation, Embedded Systems, Robotic Systems, Sensor and Actuator Technologies, Computer-Based Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Image Processing, Autonomous Mobile Systems, Data Collection and Analysis. Students are also offered opportunities for multifaceted development through general courses such as professional English, communication skills, and occupational health and safety.

At the end of the fourth semester, students are required to complete mandatory internships in public and private sector organizations deemed suitable by the internship committee. Through internships, students gain sectoral experience and reinforce their theoretical knowledge in a practical environment.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the Autonomous Systems Technician program can find employment in various sectors including the defense industry, automotive, aviation, robotic production systems, industrial automation, artificial intelligence-based technology companies, IoT application areas, and the development of smart systems. Graduates can work as technical personnel in the design, integration, maintenance, repair, testing processes, and field applications of autonomous vehicles and systems. In addition, graduates can work in fields such as automation of production lines, installation of data collection and analysis systems, and programming of mobile robot systems. Technology-oriented R&D centers within public institutions and the private sector are among the main areas where graduates can be employed.

Advancement to Higher Levels

Graduates have the opportunity to complete their 4-year undergraduate education in related fields through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
