Artificial Intelligence Operator Program
Artificial Intelligence Operator Program

History

The Artificial Intelligence Operator Program was established within Kayseri University Vocational School of Information Technologies following the decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 18/04/2024, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 as amended by Law No. 2880 and Article Additional 30 of Law No. 2809. The program admitted students for the first time and commenced its educational activities in the 2024–2025 Academic Year.

Within the Vocational School of Information Technologies, under the Department of Electronics and Automation, there are four programs: Digital Transformation Electronics, Autonomous Systems Technician, Unmanned Vehicle Technician, and Artificial Intelligence Operator.

The Vocational School of Information Technologies aims to educate qualified human resources required by the rapidly developing technology world. With the Industry 4.0 revolution, the demand for skilled professionals in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Cybersecurity has significantly increased. The application-oriented education provided here not only prepares students for the workforce but also contributes to the country’s digital transformation process by training specialized professionals.

Degree Awarded

Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence Operator Program are awarded an Associate Degree as an Artificial Intelligence Technician. Upon graduation, students receive a transcript and a diploma supplement documenting the courses completed and competencies acquired during their education.

Program Content

Artificial intelligence technologies, together with newly emerging techniques in recent years, play a leading role in automating, accelerating, and improving business processes across many sectors. From manufacturing to services, and from logistics to finance and healthcare, these technologies enable the digital transformation of business processes and support institutions in achieving efficiency, quality, and speed objectives.

This transformation process introduces technical requirements such as the integration, adaptation, and operation of artificial intelligence–based software within business workflows across nearly all fields. Artificial intelligence operation has therefore emerged as a technical profession that does not require direct engineering design but demands a certain level of technical expertise for effective implementation. The primary aim of the program is to train qualified information technology technicians who can apply artificial intelligence technologies and software in various fields, operate AI-based systems, and manage maintenance and troubleshooting processes.

Throughout the program, students receive theoretical and practical training in artificial intelligence algorithms, data analytics, sensor and automation systems, embedded systems, and cloud-based solutions. In addition, through internships, projects, and field applications, the program aims to provide students with real-world experience, enhance analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and strengthen their ability to work in interdisciplinary environments.

Graduates may work as technical staff in the fields of information technologies, software development, data analytics, automation, manufacturing, and services, or continue their academic careers by transferring to engineering undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence Operator Program can take part in the development, implementation, and management processes of artificial intelligence–based systems in line with the competencies they acquire. Graduates may be employed in small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large-scale industrial organizations operating in software, information technologies, data analytics, automation, manufacturing, and service sectors. Technology companies and research centers are also among the primary institutions offering employment opportunities.

Progression to Higher Education

Graduates who successfully complete the program may continue their education in related four-year undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
