Assistant Director of the Vocational School of Information Technologies, Lect. Melih ERŞEN, and Lect. Ahmet ÖZCAN visited Fotonik company to strengthen University–Industry cooperation. During the visit, the owner of the company, Prof. Dr. Mustafa TÜRKMEN, provided detailed information about the ongoing projects and the technologies being developed.
Prof. Dr. TÜRKMEN shared the company’s production processes in the field of photonics, the technologies used, and the ongoing R&D activities, providing a comprehensive overview of current developments in the sector. He also offered important insights regarding the software languages, programming technologies, and technical skills needed in the industry.
Stating that expectations in the industry are increasing, Prof. Dr. TÜRKMEN emphasized the importance of aligning university education with sector needs. He offered several recommendations regarding practical training, project-based learning, and the inclusion of up-to-date software tools in the curriculum to help students position themselves more strongly in the professional world.
